"There is a long list of reasons I selected The Watson School of Biological Sciences for my graduate education. High on that list is the unique academic environment provided at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The combination of world class research professors, small class size and a program that focuses on the scientific logic and reasoning has provided me with the tools for successes in my future endeavors. The first semester was an intensely enriching period of time in which I was taught by some of the most prominent researchers in their fields including WSBS faculty as well as external speakers including Chuck Sherr and Robert Tijan. The two week courses in subjects ranging from system neuroscience to structural biology where challenging and have allowed me to learn a great deal in a short amount a time. The most useful aspect of this program is the one on one mentoring and guidance we receive . The approachable faculty, academic mentor and biweekly evaluations allow easy interactions with professors and a constant update of progress.

In addition to a curriculum that promotes the logical thinking necessary to critically interpret scientific literature in diverse fields, as students, we have access to the numerous meetings and courses offered at the lab.

CSHL is an extremely enriching environment with exceptional access to scientific exposition and exploration. I am very happy with my decision to attend the WSBS."
